SYDNEY, 26/8/15 – Australia’s largest designer fashion rental website, GlamCorner (www.glamcorner.com.au), has announced the launch of its new online store, signalling its aggressive growth plans in the fashion rental market following the closure of a $500,000 Seed investment from AirTree Ventures.
The company brings its technology development in-house with its new store – allowing it to deliver new product updates and features to its customers with faster iterations, and closes the gap in its product by offering a seamless experience across all devices – desktop, tablet and mobile.
The team has also increased its data and analytics focus and capabilities across the business, and has further integrated its warehouse and bookings operations closely with its online interface, thus streamlining the order fulfilment and logistics process.
Co-Founder & CEO Dean Jones said “The launch of our new site marks a major milestone in our plans for expansion. Now we have to push to get the fashion rental concept more mainstream and scale our business to cope with the demand levels that we are starting to see. We’ve seen our average monthly order volumes jump 70% over the last three months, so we’re very excited about the momentum our new site will give us from here.”
The news of the launch closely follows the expansion of the GlamCorner team with two key additions six weeks earlier – Ilter Dumduz, previously a Product Director at Freelancer.com and Senior Product Manager at Domain.com.au, joins the company as Chief Product Oficer and Joel Plane, previously Engineering Team Lead at Birdsnest.com.au, joins as Head of Engineering – both adding a wealth of experience across product and technology to deliver a best-in-class fashion rental experience to the company’s rapidly-growing community of users.
“I’m very excited to be part of GlamCorner. From a product perspective, it’s a very interesting problem to be solving for and involves a high degree of innovation around how fashion is going to be consumed in the future. We are literally creating our own market as we grow and that’s very exciting. Taking the leap into a disruptive company like this at this early stage was an opportunity that was just too good to pass on!” said Ilter Dumduz.
Commenting on the launch, Craig Blair from AirTree Ventures, said “GlamCorner is a great example of a team who showed initiative and hustle to demonstrate product/ market fit and customer traction using a Minimum Viable Product then raising capital to fund a product rebuild using real customer data as well as expanding the team to prepare for scale.”
