A huge welcome to Explorer Cohort 6! These angel investors are ready to take your pitches.

A huge welcome to Explorer Cohort 6! Over the next 12 weeks, these Explorers will learn everything about angel investing, including angel 101, syndicates, term sheets, legal, deal sourcing and due diligence.

From the start

Explorers began in 2020, with a big hairy goal: to find and nurture the next generation of angel investors in ANZ, with a specific focus on bringing diversity to an old-school industry.

This goal came from a strong belief in the importance of angel investors; they’re the lifeblood of the ecosystem, the canaries in the coal mine, and fundamental to the overall success of the startup ecosystem.

Innovating across the regions

It all started with Cohort 1: 30 budding angels who learnt how to find deals with confidence and perform deep dives on early stage startups.

We’ve now got 300 Explorers across ANZ, who are seeing, supporting and investing in brilliant founders. Starting from Cohort 5, we turned our focus to the regions, specifically increasing the number of Explorers outside of metro Sydney and Melbourne.

The success of our previous cohort affirmed our hypothesis that startup communities have begun to emerge and flourish outside of the metropolitan hubs. Capital cities aren’t the sole birthplace of entrepreneurial brilliance, and we’ve continued this focus into Cohort 6.

Say hello to Cohort 6 👋

These Explorers are excited to support you as you navigate your founder journey. Check out their profiles below to see what types of startups they’re interested in and how they can help you. If you’re looking to raise, they’d love to meet you.
